Thirty minutes had passed since Monaghan's second-half collapse against Donegal in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final and Gabriel Bannigan was still trying to figure out where it all went wrong.
The Farney men were in control at the break, having played some champagne football with Rory Beggan's late two-pointer sending them striding down the Cusack Stand steps with a seven-point lead, 1-15 to 0-11.
